TradingFloor features Stephen Pope and Spotlight Ideas

Tuesday November 18th 2014

I published a trade review on Saxo Bank TradingFloor (c) this morning so as to evaluate the profitability or otherwise of the ideas initiated thus far.

In the ebb and flow, or frequently hurly-burly nature of asset trading, I wanted to catch my breath and review the opened and closed trades I have posted so far.

This should be a regular exercise that complements the announcement of individual trades so that the losses can be examined as well the profits celebrated.

To date, I have opened and closed 39 trades whilst contributing to Saxo Bank Trading Floor .

Of these, 28 were closed profitably and 11 booked a loss.

There is always a reason to be engaged and currently there are 16 positions still open.

So far, the policy of moving from a stop loss to profit protection once a trade is in the money has worked, for even though there can be annoying days when a level is activated before a sudden market turn, such an approach can ultimately be for the best. For example, and in the broad scheme of things, my soybean exposure yesterday has worked well.

On an annualised basis the longs have averaged gains of 578.53 percent and the losses averaged 257.34 percent.

The net annualised gain is 257.34 percent.

Client Feedback

Would be interesting to see this kind of sum-up/review from every professional contributor on tradingfloor.com and maybe even compare them.
Well done Steve! :)

Very interesting and positive summary. Well done, Stephen.

Seriously, this truly is brilliant performance and honest analysis, well done Stephen!

Thanks for honest job. I wish others be the same.
